Original Page       -       Second Update

The proposal to introduce a 20 mph safety zone in the village will be discussed at the Next Parish Council meeting on 12 January 2009. The latest proposal will be on display and incorporate comments from the Parish Council and East Northants Council. There will be an opportunity during the meeting to make your views known.
On the map below the letters represent the following road signs. The road signs shown below are for illustration purposes only.

The Parish Council would like Parishioners to comment the following options:
  1. Should the whole of Taylors Green be included within the 30 mph zone? At present the speed limit on this road is 60 MPH. However, speed limits can only change by a maximum of 30 mph. Therefore, there would need to be a section of Taylors Green at 30 mph prior to the start of the 20 mph zone at Spinny Close.
  2. Should Stamford Lane be included in the 20 mph zone. If this were the case, the 20 mph zone would need to start on Peterborough Road before the Eaglethorpe Junction.
The Parish Council is committed to keeping the road signs and road markings to a minimum and giving careful consideration to their placing to maintain the character of the village.
