Warmington Playgroup

pg image1pg image21

pg playgroupOur village playgroup has excellent facilities based at Warmington School (but independantly run) for all types of creative, energetic and quiet play in a large, safe indoor area, and also in an enclosed outdoor playground. We believe that providing a high adult to child ratio allows us to give children individual attention and thereby a high standard of pre-school education and personal care.

We hope that you find this information useful. If you would like further information please do not hesitate to contact the Playleader, Mrs Josephine Black by writing to:  Warmington Playgroup c/o, Warmington School, School Lane, Warmington, Peterborough, PE8 6TA

Our playgroup is a registered charity managed by volunteer parents - Warmington Playgroup Charity No. 1028199

Entry Requirements

Playgroup is for children aged from 2 years to 5 years.

Sessions

Monday to Friday 9:00am to 11:30am.

Monday to Thursday optional extra hour to 12.30

Held in Warmington School Hall/buildings.

Fees

£8.75 per session plus £2 for optional extra hour, payable every half term. There is an initial £10 booking fee payable at registration. This will reserve a place for your child and will cover the cost of a bag and hat. You are welcome to attend up to 3 free ‘taster’ sessions with your child, to settle them in and familiarise yourself with the daily routine.

Government Nursery Grants

The Government Nursery Education Grant pays for up to 5 sessions a week from the term after your child reaches the age of 3. This does not cover the optional extra hour. As the criteria change frequently, please check with the Playleader whether your child should receive the Grant.

We also accept Busy Bees vouchers or other employer vouchers.

What should my child wear?

Children are happiest in clothes they can mange themselves (for example for toilet visits!) although help is always at hand. Some of the many activities on offer are messy so it is best to make sure that your child is comfortable and will not get upset if paint or glue is accidentally spilled on their clothes.

As outdoor play is part of every session (weather permitting), appropriate outdoor clothing/protection should be brought to wear in cold weather (coats, hats, gloves), and in hot weather (sunhats and high factor sun cream).

Playgroup sweatshirts, in red and embroidered with our logo, are available for £7.50

What to bring?

In case of accidents, please provide a change of clothes in the playgroup bag provided at registration. We provide milk and nutritious snacks at each session. Please discuss any special dietary needs with the Playleader. If your child stays for the optional extra hour on some days, please provide a clearly labelled packed lunch, preferably in insulated lunchbox as there is no cold storage available. As the children eat with the school children, could you please note the school’s policy on packed lunches:

“If you wish to provide chocolate biscuits or cake, we ask you to send no more than one of these items. We do not allow sweets or bars of chocolate. Please do not send glass bottles or carbonated drinks for health and safety reasons.”
