3. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION (from the floor)

a) Mr Cooper asked if timetables could be put in bus shelters. The Parish Council have been requesting this for a long time but with no luck to date.

b) Mr Cooper asked if flowering trees could be considered in tree planting.

c) Mr Cooper asked if solar powered street lights could be considered as an option when replacing street lights. He suggested more lights from Church Street towards the ford and then further towards the roundabout. The 30mph sign may then be able to be moved to the position of the last street light.

d) Mr Atkinson expressed concern at possible light pollution if the planned development goes ahead at Rectory Farm. There is already light pollution at Eaglethorpe barns and the elevation of Rectory Barn could mean further light pollution. He asked that the relevant authorities be made aware of this. Mr Constant pointed out that light pollution is raised in the Village Design Statement.

e) Mr Atkinson asked if the meeting knew who was responsible for putting stakes in the verge at the top of Broadgate Way. Enquiries will be made.

f) Mr Atkinson suggested that when bulb planting, a wide variety of bulbs is required. He suggested that BTCV supply such bulbs.

g) Mr Thomas asked if the "Way Post" or fingerboard at the top of Broadgate Hill could be preserved. He suggested that the Parish Council invest some money in it.

h) Mr Ellard asked if allotment rent demands would be sent out and if rents would remain the same. Rents are to remain the same and invoices will be sent out at the end of May.

4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS

a) Mr Short pointed out that the sign in Orchard road is bent and also that the road sign at Eaglethorpe is missing.

b) Mr Dixon asked on behalf of the PCC if the Church entrance gate and the wall could be looked at. Mr Rowell has already asked Mr Forge to look at the gate and will ask Mr Solt to look at the wall and give some costings.

c) Mr Reid reported that there are now 9 lights at Eaglethorpe Barns giving even more light pollution. Mr Cutler attempted to set up a meeting with the management but was informed that the lighting is the responsibility of Elton Estates. The matter will therefore be taken up with them.

d) Mr Rowell reported that water has been running down Broadgate Way. The Cemetery ditch needs clearing out. Mr Rowell to have a word with Mr Moules.

The meeting closed at 9.30pm.
