Parish Council MinutesANNUAL PARISH MEETING Minutes of the meeting held on Monday 12 th May 2003in the Village hall, Warmington
1. ATTENDANCE Mr D Rowell (Chairman) 2. APPROVAL AND SIGNING OF THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD ON 20 th MAY 2002. These were signed as a true and accurate record of events.3. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION a) As Chair of the School Governors, Mr Davey updated the Parish Council on the School situation previously brought up by Mrs Hodges. The Governors are keen to protect the right of the children to play in the playground. NCC, the Parish Council and the School agreed that children from the village could play in the School grounds at weekends and in the evenings. The Clerk to ascertain whether this agreement was in writing. Mr Davey is concerned with the question of liability and is making enquiries as to where the School stands legally. Initial discussion has suggested that where the practice was established before the development ie the children played in the grounds before the houses were built, NCC would be unlikely to rescind the agreement b) Mr Thomas pointed out that the Red Lion application would result in the loss of an amenity for the village in that various social events are held in the car park there. Also the line of the properties would result in a loss of the vista both to the meadows and the church spire. Mr Thomas commented that 1 inch used to be considered the tripping hazard for footpaths. Mr Cooper commented that it is 2 inches for roads. Mr Thomas commented that since the floods the stile near the Mill needs building up. c) Mr Peck expressed his support for the Parish Council proposal to have more consultation with the District Councillor. d) Mr Davey suggested perhaps working with the Youth Club re the problem at the Dark Hole. Mr Atkinson commented that he had looked at the situation and could find no evidence that the sett was blocked. He spoke to some children on site. e) Mr Cooper pointed out that there are travellers on Top Road. The police are aware and are monitoring the situation. They are block pavers and gardeners but only anticipate being there for about a week. 4. ANY OTHER BUSINESS None. The meeting closed at 10.05pm |
