Warmington Playgroup

Open Monday to Friday (term time) 9.00 to 11.30am

Warmington's friendly and caring Playgroup welcomes children aged from 2½ years until school age, and who are toilet-trained. In addition to Warmington children, we also welcome those from surrounding towns and villages.
The Playgroup is based at Warmington School, offering excellent facilities for all types of creative, energetic and quiet play in a large, safe indoor area, as well as an enclosed outdoor playground. We provide a high adult to child ratio, enabling us to give children individual attention and thereby a high standard of pre-school education and personal care.
Fees are £5.00 per session, plus an initial £10 registration fee. Help with fees is available in some cases. The Playgroup is a self-supporting organisation run by a Committee of Parents/Carers. We are a non-profit making charity with fees covering the running expenses only - our fundraising ventures help us raise the extra money we need to buy new toys and equipment.
Warmington Playgroup belongs to the Pre-school Learning Alliance (PLA), an organisation which sets and maintains standards of childcare in playgroups across the country. We are also regulated and inspected by OFSTED Early Learning.
A full prospectus is available detailing the Playgroup curriculum and all our policies. For more information call in at Playgroup or telephone Josephine (280701), Delphine (280639) or Shannon (280160).

Elly’s Diary: a typical morning at Playgroup

9.00 Made sure Daddy got me there on time so I could play in our BRAND NEW caterpillar tunnel with Maria and Robin.

9.15 Registration. We all sat in a circle to say hello to EVERYONE and talk about what day it is (MONDAY) and what the weather is doing (SUNNY) and about today’s very special visitor.

9.30 Today the big policeman came to see us. He took us outside to see his car and we all crossed the road with him VERY SAFELY. Also painted a picture of Daddy wearing a big hat.

10.00 Played outside on the ride-on toys. We all pretended to be on a road and Amanda was the crossing lady and we all had to stop. I’m not very good at stopping but Amanda is good at jumping.

10.30 Snack time: milk, raisins and apple. Pinched extra apple slices when Rowena not looking gave one to Andrew.

10.45 Josephine read us a book about walking in the jungle. Definitely want to be an explorer when I grow up. Or a lion.

11.00 Back outside to play “What time is it Mr Wolf?” which Emily is very good at because she can run fast - I am very good at the counting bit.

11.30 Home time. Will show Mummy how to cross the road VERY SAFELY while pushing a buggy and carrying soggy picture of Daddy in big hat.
